| Chicago Tumbles Again, Falls, 5-3, to Detroit | The Detroit Sturgeons picked up a win at Riverside Park, dropping the Chicago Cyclones, 5-3. Bill Poole, who is tied for 9th in the FL with a .361 on-base percentage, was the difference-maker. The losses continue to mount for Chicago, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Had Matt McFall not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, McFall hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Sturgeons.
