Federals Grind Out 2-1 Win
The Washington Federals claimed a close win over the New York Barons, due in large part to Tom Ewart. The Washington right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Washington goes to 21-32, New York to 22-35.

The Federals got a big at-bat from right fielder Jim Bayles. For the game, Bayles was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Washington a 2-1 lead.

"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Washington manager said afterward.
