| Strickland at His Best, Blanks Chicago | Wilton Strickland of Indianapolis easily handled the Chicago Cyclones, stopping them on 2 hits and chucking a complete-game 7-0 shutout.
"He really did a job on us," said Chicago manager . "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us."
He finished the game with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in a solid outing.
