Starting pitcher Martin Bird was a major factor, holding his opponents in check all game. Bird yielded 1 run over 10 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. The Sturgeons got a clutch hit from shortstop Eli Money. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Sturgeons.
