Marty Wilson was a major factor in the 11-7 Pittsburgh win over Indianapolis. The Vulcans right fielder was 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Pittsburgh pitcher Dennis Catchings got the win. He's now 15-9. Charlie James was tagged with the loss. The third-place Vulcans have won 4 straight.

Steve Columbus came through with a big-time hit for Pittsburgh. The third baseman smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 11-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
