Tigers 9-2 Losers to St. Louis
St. Louis starter Zebulon Eldridge ran into little resistance from Montreal hitters, as his team cruised to victory, 9-2. Eldridge yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 11-2. St. Louis is 25-8 and Montreal, with the loss, 21-14.

Travis Krupp had a big 2-run triple for the Pilots in the bottom of the sixth inning. With St. Louis leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Joe Henry, who finished 4th in the IA in strikeouts with 199 in 1883, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 5th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pilots ahead, 5-1.

"Zebulon -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Pilots manager . "He was the key to us winning."
