The Pittsburgh Vulcans topped the Indianapolis Westerners, 5-2, in Federal League action at Western Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Pittsburgh pitcher and Brooklyn, New York, native Stanley Lamb. The 4th-place Vulcans are now 28-36, the Westerners 27-40.

Will Wessels had a chance to do some damage in the bottom of the ninth. With Indianapolis trailing 5-2, Indianapolis had runners on 1st and 2nd. But Wessels hit into a double play.
