Red-Hot Monarchs Win Again
Cincinnati pitcher Ashton Slake did his part in helping his team beat the Boston Brahmins, 6-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Slake, who is tied for 6th in the IA in innings pitched with 96.0, went the distance for Cincinnati. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. The win puts Cincinnati at 16-11.

Cincinnati right fielder Jason Curtis contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 26th hit of the season and put the Monarchs ahead, 3-0.

"We're just feeding off each other right now," said Curtis.
