Federals Slap 10-5 Loss on New York
The Washington Federals topped the New York Barons, 10-5, in Federal League action at Columbia Field. The standout performance belonged to Washington pitcher and Shelton, Connecticut, native Norm Schmitt. Washington is last in the Federal League with a record of 21-55.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, Al Matthews was at the plate when Washington scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Federals to go in front, 6-5.

"Norm was in attack mode," said Washington manager .
