Westerners Net 6-4 Win
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Indianapolis Westerners and Pittsburgh Vulcans.

The Indianapolis Westerners locked up a win at Western Grounds, knocking off the Pittsburgh Vulcans, 6-4. On the mound for Indianapolis was right-hander Doc Burbank. He played a major role in the triumph. Indianapolis is now 37-42, Pittsburgh 38-36.

Ken McDowell had a big 2-run triple for the Westerners in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Indianapolis leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from George Ashe, who is tied for 8th in the FL in quality starts with 19, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 6th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Westerners ahead, 5-0.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Burbank.
