Colts Get Extra-Inning, 9-8 Win
The Louisville Colts outlasted the Indianapolis Westerners, 9-8, in 12 innings. Norm Heyward led the way, going 5-for-6 for Louisville. Louisville reliever Ed Lane got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jimmy Brooks was tagged with the loss. The loss has the Westerners at 5-3.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 12th, an error by the Westerners allowed the Colts to score the winning run.

"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Heyward. "And vice-versa."
