Slumping Monarchs Lose Again, 12-9
The first-place St. Louis Pilots picked up another win.

John Tennison added some punch to the St. Louis offense, helping them outmuscle the Cincinnati Monarchs, 12-9. In the game, Tennison, who is tied for 6th in the IA with a .356 batting average, went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Lee Ennis finished to wrap up his 2nd save.

The Pilots benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the third. With Bulldog Ayers at bat and St. Louis leading 2-1, the Cincinnati miscue allowed St. Louis to plate 2 and take the lead, 4-1.

"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Pilots manager .

St. Louis leads the International Association by 6½ games.
