The Cincinnati Monarchs picked up a win at St. Gabriel Grounds II, topping the Montreal Tigers, 5-4. On the mound for Cincinnati was left-hander Ashton Slake. He played a principal role in the triumph. The win elevated the Monarchs to 17-12.

In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, the Tigers allowed the Monarchs to take a 5-4 lead on a base hit and Montreal error.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Slake.
