| Barons Win, 8-2, Extend Streak to 4 Games | New York pitcher Tom Samples did his part in helping his team defeat the Washington Federals, 8-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Samples, now 7-14, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The 5th-place Barons sport a record of 29-43.
An inflection point occurred with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Barons third baseman David King hit a fastball from Ronald Langford for a 2-run single. Just like that, New York was up, 2-1.
