The New York Columbians picked up a win at Columbia Field, topping the Milwaukee Creams, 4-3. On the mound for New York was right-hander Tom Ewart. He played a principal role in the triumph. Ewart, who led the FL in RBI with 68 last year, went the distance for New York. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. New York, at 34-33, holds down 5th place in the Federal League.

Bobby Utley, who is on pace for 59 RBI this season, helped out the New York cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman went 1-3.

"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Utley.
