| Sturgeons Lose Versus New York, 3-2 | In a low-scoring contest between the New York Barons and the Detroit Sturgeons, Ted Carson was the X factor. The New York right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Carson yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 13-15. New York currently is in 5th place in the Federal League at 45-45.
New York left fielder Jefferson McMillen helped the Barons go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, McMillen hit a run-scoring single off Detroit pitcher Bill Poole.
