The Indianapolis Westerners topped the Chicago Cyclones, 5-2, in Federal League action at Garrison Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Indianapolis pitcher Wilton Strickland. The win makes Indianapolis 42-45.

Indianapolis catcher Stan Violette contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Westerners ahead, 2-0.

"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Violette.
