| Catchings Blanks St. Louis, 3-0 | Pittsburgh Vulcans pitcher Dennis Catchings really got it done at Fuchs Park in a 3-0 shutout victory over the St. Louis Pilots, shutting them down on 11 hits.
"It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Catchings said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."
The 27-year-old issued no walks and had 3 strikeouts in the Vulcans win.
