The Montreal Tigers wanted a good start from Stu Archibald -- and he delivered one. The result was a 3-1 Montreal win over the Boston Brahmins at St. Gabriel Grounds II. Archibald, now 5-5, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The Tigers have an impressive 19-10 record.

Montreal third baseman Clipper Smith helped the Tigers go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Smith hit a run-scoring single off Boston pitcher Peter Gates.
