The Louisville Colts picked up a win at Capitol Park, knocking off the Washington Federals, 9-2. Starting pitcher Ray Ball played a key role in the triumph. Ball got the win, improving to 14-7. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The loss makes Washington 27-63.

Louisville used a well-timed hit by Ken Duncan to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Colts ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
