Westerners Win, 5-4, Over New York
Though he had a stellar game, Jefferson McMillen could not prevent his team, the New York Barons, from losing, 5-4, to the Indianapolis Westerners. McMillen was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Wilton Strickland was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities. Indianapolis has a record of 44-45, placing them 6th in the Federal League.

Marty Teets drove in one run for Indianapolis. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With no one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ted Carson. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

Teets told the Indianapolis News: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
