Norm Mason, who started for Detroit, pitched effectively for his team. Mason, now 7-14, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 5 runs. The Sturgeons, at 30-43, sit in 7th place in the Federal League.
Yank Williams, who is tied for 7th in the FL in hits with 97, helped out the Detroit cause in the top of the second inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the left fielder went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
