| Louisville's Rogers Gets 1000th Hit | The box score from yesterday's game will show that Louisville beat the Washington Federals, 2-0. It will also show that left fielder Hick Rogers went 1-for-4 for the Colts. It will not show, however, that Rogers reached the 1000-hit mark for his career.
The 30-year-old Rogers reflected on the achievement after the game. He mused: "In one respect, it's a real milestone, I guess. Yet, it's just a base hit like any other base hit."
In his career, Rogers is batting .265 with 1000 hits, 23 home runs, 601 runs scored and 416 RBIs. | | | | |
