The Toronto Provincials topped the Cleveland Clippers, 6-2, in International Association action at Garrison Common Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Toronto pitcher and Baltimore, Maryland, native Lawrence Phillips. The win hiked the Toronto record to 21-17.

With Toronto leading 3-2 in the bottom of the third, Henry Clancy hit a 2-run single off Cleveland pitcher Dan Hicks. It put the Provincials ahead 5-2.

"I thought we competed really well," said Provincials manager . "I thought the energy was really good."
