| Goss Shuts Out Pittsburgh, 3-0 | A favor to his bullpen. That's what Thomas Goss was doing at Excelsior Grounds, as he blanked the Pittsburgh Vulcans, 3-0.
"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the New York Excelsiors right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."
Goss notched 2 strikeouts, surrendered no walks, allowed no hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
