A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Louisville Colts and Indianapolis Westerners.

The Louisville Colts overcame a good performance by Indianapolis shortstop Kermit Nelson to knock off Indianapolis, 7-6, at Western Grounds. Nelson was 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 3 times. The win puts the Colts at 58-41, while the Westerners drop to 48-48.

In the top of the 2nd, Louisville took the lead on a 2-run single by Hick Rogers. At the time, the Colts were trailing 1-0, but Rogers's hit with two outs against Indianapolis pitcher Wilton Strickland put them in front, 2-1.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Rogers.
