The Boston Brahmins spoiled a good performance by Montreal shortstop Dave Dye, bumping off Montreal, 7-4, at St. Gabriel Grounds II. Dye was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Roy Kane got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Montreal.

The Tigers had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Brahmins going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old right-handed pitcher Roy Kane came to the plate. Kane hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 fastball from Montreal hurler Stu Archibald. It was Kane's 1st double of the year.
