Relying mainly on his fastball, the left-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Cincinnati triumph. With the win, Cincinnati goes to 30-26, while the Prairie Dogs fall to 18-42.
Slake, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was dealing all game. He kept Kansas City hitters off-balance, while giving the Monarchs 8 quality innings. Slake threw 84 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 5.
