| Excelsiors Outdo Pilots in Extra Innings | Bill Nolette was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at Fuchs Park. In fact, the New York Excelsiors left-hander was instrumental in his team's 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Pilots. At 29-51, the Excelsiors claim 7th place in the International Association.
Nolette was the winner. He's now 9-15, after putting the St. Louis offense in a vise grip. Over 10 innings, he gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while racking up 5 Ks.
