The Toronto Provincials picked up a win at Garrison Common Grounds, knocking off the Boston Brahmins, 6-5. On the mound for Toronto was right-hander George Ward. He played a key role in the triumph. Toronto is 5th in the International Association with a record of 30-33.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 5-5, slugging right-handed pitcher Henry Clancy won it for Toronto. With a runner on 2nd, Clancy hit a first pitch fastball from Tom Hagood for a run-scoring double, giving his team the 6-5 win.

"This wasn't a good win," said Clancy. "It was a great win."
