The Milwaukee Creams topped the Philadelphia Unions, 11-3, in Federal League action at Cream City Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Milwaukee pitcher Norm Schmitt. The Unions fall to 4-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 1883 season.

Ed Templin hit a run-scoring double off Mike McCord in the bottom of the third, which put the Creams in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Templin had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Schmitt. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
