Pilots Claim Late Win
The St. Louis Pilots locked up a win at Lakefront Park, knocking off the Cleveland Clippers, 6-3. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Zebulon Eldridge. He played a major role in the triumph. Eldridge yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 32-10. At 75-26, the Pilots find themselves in first place in the International Association.

The most important at-bat for St. Louis came in the top of the ninth inning, when catcher Charles Russell stroked a 1-0 fastball to right for a run-scoring single, putting St. Louis up, 4-3.
