| Indianapolis 3-2 Win Hard-Earned | The Indianapolis Westerners earned a close win over the Washington Federals, thanks in part to Doc Burbank. The Indianapolis right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the FL in wins with 19, played a key role in the 10-inning, 3-2 victory. The win went to Wilton Strickland in relief. His record improves to 22-14. George Edwards took the loss. Indianapolis is 5th in the Federal League with a record of 53-54.
The Westerners got a clutch hit from third baseman Tom Woods. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Westerners.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Burbank told the Indianapolis News.
