Colts Take Down Barons, 4-3
The Louisville Colts picked up a win at Derby Grounds, taking down the New York Barons, 4-3, in 11 innings. On the mound for Louisville was right-hander Sam Barnhill. He played a central role in the triumph. The win brings the Colts to 5-10, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

The Colts got a clutch hit from center fielder Vernon Thorne. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Colts.

"Coming in, from the get-go, I knew my stuff was good," said Barnhill.
