| Columbians Suffer 9-1 Road Loss | Boston starter Woody Ross kept the Washington hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 9-1. Ross, now 1-0, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 11, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The win puts Boston at 2-0.
In the bottom of the fourth inning of a 1-1 tie, Boston third baseman Jake Noble reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 2 runs. It broke the deadlock and put Boston on top, 3-1.
