Woody Ross pitched a gem to lead Boston to victory over the Chicago Catamounts, 7-1. Ross got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 9 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run.
Boston third baseman Jake Noble contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 8th hit of the season and put the Brahmins ahead, 2-1.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Noble.
The Brahmins, now 7-1, have hit the ground running this season.
