Cincinnati Drops Another One, 12-6
The Washington Columbians beat the Cincinnati Dutchmen, 12-6. Washington pitcher and Killarney, Ireland, native Jimmy Brannan led the way. Brannan, now 1-2, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 6 runs. Washington is now 3-5.

Washington used a well-timed hit by Timothy Red to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Columbians ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I'll be honest," said Brannan. "I didn't have much left in the tank."
