Trask Gets 5 Hits
A jubilant Lloyd Trask joined the postgame press conference at Lakefront Grounds to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Cleveland Bears pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Pittsburgh Vulcans center fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 7-6 Vulcans win.

"He made it look easy," said , manager of the Bears. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Lloyd Trask doubled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, singled in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 13th.

Thus far this year, Trask is batting .420 with no home runs, 7 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
