Pioneers Rally to Win, 4-3
The St. Louis Pioneers clipped the Boston Brahmins, 4-3, in 10 innings at Pioneers Park. The standout performance belonged to St. Louis pitcher and Providence, Rhode Island, native Dave Gunn. The St. Louis win streak is now 3 games.

Batting in the bottom of the tenth, 21-year old third baseman Rob Strunk had a real shot to win the game. Boston pitcher Woody Ross was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Strunk hit a run-scoring single. The Pioneers had a walk-off triumph.

"This game tested our mettle," said Strunk.
