Pioneers Win, 7-5, Extend Hot Streak
The St. Louis Pioneers locked up a win at Columbians Stadium, knocking off the Washington Columbians, 7-5. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Dave Gunn. He played a major role in the triumph. St. Louis has won 6 consecutive games.

St. Louis used a well-timed hit by Tom Moore to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Pioneers ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Washington manager .
