Washington Beats Boston, 4-2
Washington turned a good performance from starting pitcher Jimmy Brannan into a 4-2 triumph over the Boston Brahmins at Columbians Stadium. With the victory, the Columbians record stands at 19-33.

Timothy Red did the little things right to help the team for Washington. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Red had a clutch at-bat. Facing Boston hurler Woody Ross, he struck out to give the Columbians a 3-2 lead.

Red said afterward that "winning is the goal."
