 | Nolette Heads the Freshman Class Monday, October 1st , 1883 The outstanding rookie has been named for September -- and the winner is Bill Nolette. The Federal League awarded the trophy to him today in a press conference. It was his dazzling 8-2 record that brought the Rochester starter the Rookie of the Month award. Nolette stood out last month with a 2.32 ERA in 12 starts, tossed 104.2 innings, fanned 54 and held other teams to a .252 average. Thus far this season, Nolette has worked 379 innings with 207 strikeouts en route to a 29-11 record and a 2.52 ERA. |   |
