Detroit Comes up Empty Against Christenson
Wednesday, September 23rd , 1885
Andy Christenson led the Rochester Robins to a shutout victory, 3-0, over the Detroit Sturgeons at Riverside Park.

"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Christenson recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."

Christenson yielded 9 hits and had 2 strikeouts and 1 walk in the standout performance.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Detroit manager said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

This season, Christenson has compiled a 15-14 mark, 2.02 ERA and made 29 starts.
