 | Shanafelt Keeps Hit Streak Alive Saturday, September 3rd , 1887 Charlie Shanafelt's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Louisville right fielder smacked 1 hit against the Washington Federals in today's game at Derby Grounds, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Colts drop the game, 3-0. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Charlie Shanafelt flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th. This year, Shanafelt is hitting .356 with 165 hits, 16 home runs, 114 RBIs and has scored 101 runs. |   |
