| Shanafelt Keeps Hit Streak Alive Saturday, September 3rd , 1887 Charlie Shanafelt's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Louisville right fielder smacked 1 hit against the Washington Federals in today's game at Derby Grounds, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Colts drop the game, 3-0.
"I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Charlie Shanafelt flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th.
