 | Week's #1 Player Honored by IA Monday, October 3rd , 1887 Few players his age are still in the league, but John Tennison of the St. Louis Pilots clearly loves the game and clearly he can still get the job done. Last week the 35-year-old left fielder hit the ball with the consistency of someone ten years younger, which made Tennison a popular and well-deserved selection as International Association Player of the Week. He paced the Pilots attack by putting up a .500 batting average, 12 hits in 24 at-bats, 10 RBIs and 2 home runs. Tennison also scored 9 runs. Looking at his season stats, Tennison has compiled a .365 batting average and a .426 on-base percentage, while hitting 16 home runs and driving in 138 runs. |   |
