 | Shelton Bashes 5 Base Hits Friday, August 31st , 1888 It was a parade of hits for Crab Shelton of the Montreal Tigers at Carver Grounds. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Shelton finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Tigers to a win, 15-2.
