Stu Archibald of the Montreal Tigers proved the point at Queen City Grounds II, holding the Cincinnati Monarchs to 6 hits in a complete game shutout victory. "Archibald made us look real bad today," Monarchs manager said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking." Archibald had 4 strikeouts and gave up no walks as the Tigers took the 3-0 win.
