Stu Archibald of the Montreal Tigers proved the point at Queen City Grounds II, holding the Cincinnati Monarchs to 6 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Archibald made us look real bad today," Monarchs manager said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Archibald had 4 strikeouts and gave up no walks as the Tigers took the 3-0 win.
On his stats sheet this season, Archibald shows a 18-16 record, 37 starts, 315.1 innings, 108 strikeouts and a 2.77 ERA.
