| Anderson Stops Detroit Monday, September 24th , 1888 Victor Anderson was in a mood to talk following the Chicago Cyclones contest against the Detroit Sturgeons, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Sturgeons, 7-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Anderson said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Detroit on a 6-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 8 strikeouts.
This season, Anderson has compiled a 22-25 mark with a 3.03 ERA.
