 | Slake Acclaimed Top Pitcher in September Monday, October 1st , 1888 The International Association made it official today -- Ashton Slake of the Cincinnati Monarchs is the Pitcher of the Month. In September he impressed the sportswriters with his domination of league hitters. Slake made 10 starts, registered 7 wins and 2 losses with a solid 2.08 ERA.
