Brahmins Blanked by Child, 3-0 Monday, October 1st , 1888 Tom Child of the Kansas City Prairie Dogs overwhelmed the Boston Brahmins and walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. He blanked them, 3-0, on 2 hits with a total of 3 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"Tom was on quite a roll," Kansas City manager said. "He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters."
To date this year, Child has compiled a 17-24 mark with a 3.20 ERA in 46 starts.
