| Uxley Smacks 5 Hits for Satraps Saturday, September 5th , 1896 It was a hits blitz for Nelson Uxley at Titans Grounds.
The Cincinnati Satraps left fielder tore into the New York Titans for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Titans swept past the Satraps, 9-8, to ruin Uxley's day.
"We weren't locating our pitches well," Cincinnati manager explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Nelson was nice but it wasn't enough."
Nelson Uxley singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 10th.
This season, Uxley is batting .383 with 88 RBIs, 96 runs scored and 10 home runs.
